Professional Background

My name is Scott Roberts. I am the owner and health coach at Prime Brain Health Coaching and Consulting LLC.  I earned my Masters degree in Sport Psychology followed by earning my Doctorate of Psychology from an APA (American Psychological Association) accredited University. I have undergone formal education and training in neuropsychology, which is the expertise in understanding of brain behavior relationships. I completed a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship through Michigan State University/Flint Area Medical Education with an emphasis in neuropsychology, rehabilitation psychology, and medical/health psychology. I have been working for over 15 years in these same areas.

I continue to work as a neuropsychologist completing evaluations of cognitive functioning (attention, memory, executive function skills, etc). I work with individuals where there is concern for dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and mild cognitive impairment. I also work with individuals who have had brain injuries, stokes, ,and a variety of other neurologic problems. However, it is important to know that Prime Brain Health Coaching and Consulting LLC is not neuropsychology or therapy and is completely separate from clinical work as a neuropsychologist.

Why Prime Brain Health and Why Now?

Through many years working in the areas above I have learned an extensive amount about the brain and the various disease and lifestyle factors that can impact our brain functioning, both positively and negatively. I have also come to realize there is an increasing need for support around these lifestyle changes in our society at an individual level. This collective experience is what has interested me in the collaborative process of brain health coaching to help others optimize their own brain health and future through science-based lifestyle strategies. My goal is to provide preventative strategies to reduce the likelihood of developing or worsening of brain related diseases. The added “bonus” of improving brain health is that individuals also find that many other areas of their health also improves including weight management, cardiovascular health, diabetes control, and metabolic health.

Personal Background

While I have many professional interests and enjoy keeping myself up to date on the science of brain health and sport performance, I also have many personal interests that I maintain and that I believe are important for my own brain health and well being.

First and foremost, my family is an enormous part of my life. I have an amazing spouse and two wonderful children. My parents, siblings, and my wife’s family are also an integral part of my life.

The photograph above was taken by my mother on the lake my childhood home was on. I grew up enjoying many outdoor activities on the lake including swimming, sailing, water skiing, and fishing.

I continue to enjoy being active in a variety of activities. When not working, during the summer months you can usually find me mountain biking, hiking, swimming, or camping. During the winter I enjoy snowboarding in Tahoe as well as mountain biking and hiking when the weather permits.
